  1. Benjamin, creating a blog for marketing purposes is genius! It’s free and able to appeal to a diverse group 24 hours a day without interruption.
I liked the outdoorsy scene you selected as the background for your blog, although it is rather generic. Have you thought about having pictures of roofs or houses in the background instead?
Great idea to include the name of your company and a mission statement. This lets viewers know the purpose of the blog right away. However, you may want to include a headline that hooks people. A good way to appeal to a target audience is to offer utility. What will someone gain from reading your blog? Will they know how to roof a house themselves? Will they be more knowledgeable about what to expect from a roofing company? Or will current clients be kept up to date about Giles Roofing events and promotions?
Also, you are not taking advantage of the” about me” section. This is another great way to market the company. Include details like how long the company has been in operation, specializations, location and most importantly what makes Giles Roofing better than the competition.

  2. Benjamin,
Nice visual of your webpage. The Road image is a great way to tie in your audience. Having a mission statement is also a good way to let others know what you do and what you envision for your company. I think you should add a video you driving or of a logo you really love. Something like a logo is a good selling point and can be added to business cards and event t-shirts. I know my sister had her own company and she did her own work. her company was called, "Long Haul". Also another great idea would be to add advertisement on where you would service your jobs and where you have already expanded your networking. From your mission statement it seems that you would supply great customer service through taking pride in your customers. I can't wait until you add more to your site. Great job on your layout and the beginning stages of your mission statement for your company.-Alice
